Sharing a Vision for Main Beach and The Spit
Development on The Spit is inevitable and there are many potential land parcels on state-owned leases on which tourist-related development is possible.
The Spit is also an important recreation area and visually-prominent nature zone for Gold Coast residents and visitors offering beachfront and Broadwater recreation as well as bushland and parkland activities.
The Main Beach Association has taken the initiative to document the development potential and urban impact of all available sites and will participate in the formulation of a strategic plan in conjunction with state and local government and planning experts.
