Developer Sunland unveils plans to upgrade
intersections to solve congestion on The Spit
MAJOR upgrades to a pair of intersections have been proposed to solve traffic gridlock on The Spit.
Slip lanes would be added to major choke points along the arterial road on to the Broadwater peninsula while an existing roundabout would be scrapped and replaced by traffic lights.
The plan was submitted to Gold Coast City Council in December by developer Sunland as part of its proposed $600 million Mariner’s Cove twin towers project.
